Nancy Lee Pounders Rice – Obituary

Nancy Lee Pounders Rice, 83, of Phil Campbell, passed away Sunday, April 08, 2018 at her residence.

Nancy was best known for her cakes and catering. She was a loving wife, mother, and a grandmother, who will be missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service only will be at 2 p.m. today, April 10, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery in Phil Campbell with Brother Jason Vinson officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Loyd Rice; parents, Sherron and Delma Pounders; brother, Farris K. Pounders; and sisters, Ruby Eley, Lellon Holden, Frualine Grissom, Martha Furr and Betty Adams.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Michael Loyd Rice, Lee Eric Rice, Shonea Engelthaler (husband, Jerry); grandchildren, Kaylee Bishop Brannon (husband, Josh), Sydnee Addisyn Bishop (Seth Brindley), Ty Engelthaler, William Tanner Rice, Ashlee Morgan Rice, and Waylon Rumph; sister, Sue Martin; brother, Steele Pounders; and several nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers will be Gary Don Fleming, Bryan Messer, Kenneth Barnes, Jim Bishop, Jerry Engelthaler, Josh Brannon and Seth Brindley.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Maggie Elliott, Lindsey Rideout, Tiona Seay and the rest of the Hospice of North Alabama staff for your love and care of our mother.
