A Celebration of Life for Mr. Semaj Kea’sean Johnson, 20, of Decatur will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at St. James C.P. Church, with Pastor Michael Jones officiating and inhumation to follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Semaj died April 4, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born February 12, 1998, to Tenise Johnson and Bruce Thompson. Semaj graduated from Austin High School in 2016. He also was a Cadet SFC in the Austin High School JROTC Program, and was a member of the color guard. Later he attended Calhoun Community College where he studied Theatre and Communication; he also had the opportunity to complete an internship with Walt Disney World in the Animal Kingdom theatre in the Fall of 2017.
Semaj was employed as a host and server at Mellow Mushroom and Sam’s Bar and Grill until his transition to be with the Lord. He loved laughing, joking and hanging out with friends and family. He was very passionate about volunteering and helping others in his spare time. Semaj purposed to educate others on Sickle Cell Anemia.
