Steven Gregory “Moose” Stanford, 58, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born August 3, 1959 in Shannon, MS to William J. Stanford and Judy Lackey Stanford. He was a machinist with International Paper for fourteen years and was a member of Walker Baptist Church, Golden, MS. Steven was a man of faith who found much comfort in the words of his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who were more precious than gold to him.

Services will be Saturday, April 7, 4 p.m. at Walker Baptist Church, Golden, MS with Bro. David Holcomb, Bro. Mike Reeves and Bro. Bobby Jarrell officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife – Carolyn Stanford of Red Bay, AL.; sons – Garland West (Heather Bullock) of Tremont, MS and Dean West of Mantachie, MS; daughter – Chelsea Rogers (Corey) of Fulton, MS; four grandchildren – Gage, Khloe and Matthew West and Kenleigh Rogers and numerous brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jeff Stanford and Mark Stanford and his grandparents, Trannie and Minnie Stanford and Walter and Lois Lackey.

Pallbearers will be Joe Mask, Rodney Sullivan, Gary Sullivan, Armando Garza, John Spencer and Ricky McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Raper, Frankie Pearson, Robert Collum and Wayne Emerson.

Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 6-9 p.m. at Walker Baptist Church, Golden, MS
