Paul Mitch “Junior” Flannagin – Obituary

Paul Mitch “Junior” Flannagin, 79, of Moulton passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home. Visitation will be from 12 till 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Roger Houston and Billy George officiating. Burial will be in Hardshell Cemetery.

Born on March 30, 1939 in Lawrence County, Alabama, Paul was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Hatton and the Hatton Masonic Lodge F&AM 879. He was retired from Fluor Daniel at Monsanto in Decatur.

Survivors include his sons, Timothy Paul Flannagin (Renita) and Michael Keith Flannagin (Kathy); daughter, Cindy Raley Waldrep (Michael); brothers, Kenneth Flannagin, Melvin Flannagin, and Dale Flannagin; sisters, Helen Kerby and Lila Hovater; grandchildren, Amanda Cox (Jason); Jonna Gibbs (Jason), Mackinley Flannagin (Tori) and Jacob Flannagin (Lainey); four great-grandchildren; one step granddaughter and one step great-granddaughter.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Mitch and Mildred Johnson Flannagin, Sr.; sister, Betty Ann Hallmark; brothers, Roger Flannagin and Doulas Flannagin; grandson, Patrick Keith Flannagin; and son-in-law, John Raley.

Pallbearers will be Mackinley Flannagin, Jacob Flannagin, Jason Gibbs, Mark Hill, Freddy Webb and Ron Collier.

Special thanks are given to Dale Flannagin, Amanda Latham and Compassus Hospice for all they did for the family.
