Eva Delashaw Terry – Obituary

Eva Delashaw Terry, 96 of Moulton, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home in Moulton. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Neil Carter and Bro. Steve Agee Officiating. The burial will follow in Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Terry was born on May 20, 1921, in Lawrence County, to John Delashaw and Ella Whisanant Delashaw. She attended Pinhook School and Albright Business School in Decatur.

Mrs. Terry accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, at Wren for many years. She loved her Sunday School Class and her church. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family and friends, sewing, gardening, reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren. When she was busy, she was happy.

Mrs. Terry worked numerous jobs to support her family, then her dream came true to own and manage her own garment factory. Some of her happiest days were spent at her place., 157 Textile in Moulton, making blouses for New York buyers.

Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Charles E. (Buddy) Alexander, Clifton W. Alexander, Billie Fred Alexander, her children’s father: Charley Lee Alexander, Also her husband of 24 years, Redus Terry, her siblings, Lillian D. Weaver, May D. Roberts, Ernest Delashaw, Price Delashaw and Lawrence Delashaw.

Mrs. Terry is survived by her daughters: Barbara A. (Harold) Smothers and Gayle A. (Bradley) Cross, both of Moulton, brother: Willie Delashaw, East Lawrence, Grandchildren: Meleah Terry, Rebecca (Becky) Williams, James (Opie) Alexander, Kendra Terry, Brandi Naylor, Charlie Alexander and Kassandra Pitt.  Great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Alexander, Zack Terry, Trenton Terry, Grason Cottingham, Gwen Terry, Jay Williams, Chris Naylor and Cody Jones.

The family would like to Thank Dr. Robert Hall, Hospice of the Valley and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Gideons, PO Box 135 Moulton, Alabama 35650, Hospice of the Valley, PO Box2745 Decatur, Alabama 35602 or the  charity of your choice.
