Marjorie “Margie” Pettus – Obituary

Marjorie “Margie” Pettus, 86, of Greenhill, AL, passed away March 31st at her home. She was a member of Peppertown Freewill Baptist Church for 71 years.

 

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Verna Mitchell; and sister, Wanda Jones.

 

Margie is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Pettus; daughter, Sherry (Don) Reeves; sons, Phillip (Mary) Pettus and Rodney (Doree) Pettus; brother, Lavon Mitchell; and sister, Faye (Edward) Robertson; grandchildren, Craig (Whitney) Reeves, Kayla (Jeremy) Urban, Emma Pettus, Phillip (Kayla) Pettus II, DeeDee (Jeff) Montgomery, and Cyndi (Jeremy) Clounch; and 8 great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3rd from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel with burial at Greenhill Cemetery. Bro. Joel Wallace, Bro. Jerry Coker, and Bro. William Wallace will officiate.

 

Pallbearers will be Craig Reeves, Phillip Pettus II, Tommy McCorkle, Keith Jones, Gary Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Robbie Jones, and Spencer McCorkle.

 

The family expresses special thanks to Ms. Kelly Gooch for her loving care of Margie.

 

We would also like to extend our appreciation to Greenhill Pharmacy and to Dr. Thompson’s office for their service.
