Turner Earl Wood – Obituary

Turner Earl Wood, 81, died Sunday, April 1, 2018, at his home in Fulton. He was born April 29, 1936, to William Barnette and Della Mae Cagle Wood. He was a long time member of the Bible Baptist Church in Overton, Texas, where he was very active. He also did evangelist work. He enjoyed picking and singing bluegrass music. His hobbies also included woodworking, fishing, and hunting.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p. m. Thursday, April 5, at the Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Texas. McNeece–Morris Funeral Home in Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Wood of Fulton; two sons, Turner Dewayne Wood of Henderson, TX, and Darren Keith Wood of Fulton, MS; two sisters, Evie Travis of Tennessee, and Effie Jane Axley of Henderson, TX; four grandchildren, Teresa Diane Wood Morgan, Shaun Lee Wood, April Gayle Wood Gordon, and Brandon Keith Wood; six great grandchildren, Alondra Diane Morgan, Shane Lee Morgan, Chandler Keith Gordon, Macie Marie Gordon, Kenna Grace Wood, and Emory Leigh Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, from 4:00-7:00 p. m. at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
