Born Friday, March 06, 1933 in Harvest, AL, he was the son of Homer Hovis and Annie Dee Hovis. He lived in the Harvest area for the last 50+ years.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother, Buddy Hovis, Sisters, Dorothy Ann Lewter,and Francis Hovis.
He is survived by his Son, Jackie (Debbie) Hovis, Fayetteville, TN, Daughter, Kenethia (Don) Thomas,Madison, AL, Brothers, Jerry Hovis, Charlie Hovis, Aaron Hovis, David Hovis, and Homer Hovis, Sister, Genvina Strickland, Grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Adam (Pagie) Thomas, and Chris Hovis, Step-Grandchildren, Chad Cowley, and Brad Cowley, and 1 Great-Grandchild, Nova Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 02, 2018 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 02, 2018 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Floyd Henderson and Rev. Jerry Hovis officiating. Burial will be in Ford’s Chapel Cemetery, Harvest, AL.
