Elifus Milton Sanders 89, of Huntsville,AL died Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Born Saturday, February 02, 1929 in Ardmore, AL. He was the son of Grady Milton Sanders and Nora Lee Moore Sanders. Elifus’s first public job was in 1949 with the Ardmore Police Dept. of Ardmore, AL, the Alabama Highway Patrol and Police Depatment of Athens, Alabama. He left in 1971 as Chief of Police of Alabama & Tennessee. He attended the Civil Service Coast Guard School in 1971. He was in the Merchant Marines untill he retired in 1984.
Elifus lived in Huntsville, Alabama and West Palm Beach, Florida until his death and was a member of the East Huntsville Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Lena Sanderson Edwards Sanders. Elifus and Lena never had children.

He is survived by his Brother, Winston Sanders, Huntsville, AL, Sister, Ann Goodwin Moody, Winchester, TN, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
