Funeral service for Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) John Leslie Hoffman, Jr., age 73, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Gay and Rev. William Slade officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
John was born on April 18, 1944 in Butler County, MO to the late John Leslie, Sr. and Wanda Reynolds Hoffman. He was a member of Gideons International and a past president of Fayetteville Lions Club. He served in the United States Army for 30 years and was a member of the Ordnance Corps Hall of Fame. Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Hoffman passed away on March 25, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Dale Bomar Hoffman; daughter, Lira Frye of Fayetteville, TN; sons, Eric (Amybeth) Hoffman of Madison, AL and Jonathan Mark (Cortney) Hoffman of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Thomas Frye, Leslie Frye, Jacob Hoffman, Anna Hoffman, Chloe Puhalovic, Mason Puhalovic, Tucker Hoffman, and Bentleigh Hoffman.
Visitation with the family will be held at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins is honored to be serving the family of Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Hoffman.
