Funeral services for Mr. Joe Ray Layman, age 81 of Palmer, will be held on Monday, March 25, 2018 at 3 PM at Layne Funeral Home in Palmer. Bro. Riley Anderson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday from 5-9 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Layman passed away on Friday, March 23, after an accident on his farm.

Mr. Layman passed away on Friday, March 23, after an accident on his farm.Mr. Layman was born on October 11, 1936, in Palmer to the late Homer Layman and Ola White Layman. He loved farming, raising his cattle and horses, and camping with his wife, Edna. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sister, Nadine Layman Scott. He is survived by his wife of 60 years as of March 8, 2018, Edna Scott Layman; one brother, Ezal Layman; nephews, Ricky Scott and Bobby Scott and wife Mershan, Danny White and wife Cheryl; niece, Kathy Seville; sister-in-law, Linda Scott and husband Vinson; great nieces, Delisa and Erica Scott; and a host of friends.
