Carolyn Whitworth Hurd – Obituary

Carolyn Whitworth Hurd of Lynnville passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018. She was born in Pulaski on February 1, 1942 and was 76 years old.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Carolyn worked at Maremont Gabriel for 27 years before retiring and graduated from Beech Hill School. She loved her flowers, hummingbirds, and butterflies but most of all she cherished her family and friends and loved to take care of others.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 25th from 12:00 noon until 3:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will follow visitation on Sunday at 3:00pm in the Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.
Burial takes place in Lynnwood Cemetery, Lynnville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Malcolm and Annie Louise Coggin Whitworth, brothers, Hayman Whitworth, Raymond Gary Whitworth and Bobby Frank Whitworth.
She is survived by her,
Husband of 57 years William Howard Hurd, Jr. of Lynnville
Daughter, Sandy (Berry) Sands of Lynnville
Daughter, Betty Oakley Thompson of Minor Hill
Son, William Howard (Cynthia) Hurd lll Columbia
Grandchildren, Charlene Sands (Bryan) Russell of Pulaski, Wil (Lindsey) Sands of Lynnville, Jodie Lynn (Danny) Gant of Morristown, Evan ( Angie ) Oakley Jr. of Columbia, Suzanne (Chris Griffin) Oakley of Minor Hill and Alisa Hurd of Murfreesboro.
7 Great-grandchildren
Sister-in law, Bobbie Whitworth of Huntsville
Her cherished Beech Hill classmates and friends.
Special Friends, Betty Womble and Cheryl Davis also survive.
