Donald A. Paxton “PeePaw”, age 81 of Saltillo, TN passed peacefully from this life into eternity on Sunday, March 18, 2018. He was born March 3, 1937, in Longview, Washington to the late Wesley A. and Rose Hartshorn Paxton. He joined the United States Navy in 1954 and served his country for 3 years. While in the Navy, he was stationed at NAS Ellyson Field, Pensacola, Florida where he met and married his wife, Margaret Joseph Paxton. Don called Saltillo home
although he lived the greater part of his life in Pensacola, FL where he retired from Bell South in 1998.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Joseph Paxton. His 4 children, Delecia (Ron) Parker, Jaudon (Bob) Pickering, Anthony (Karen) Paxton, and Douglas (Cassie) Paxton; grandchildren James (Jill) Parker, Joseph (Michelle) Parker, William Pickering, and Hannah Pickering, Robin (Josh) Chase, Joey (Kera) Brewer, Logan Christopher, Talon Christopher, and Gunner Paxton; great grandchildren Joey Parker, Jeb Parker, and Daisy Brewer; 1 sister, Cleo Paxton Stratton, of Longview, Washington, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family visitation is 3-4 pm, general visitation is from 4-8 pm Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Pafford Funeral Home Scott’s Hill, TN. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Saltillo, TN on Wednesday March 21, 2018, with Rev. Tommy Crocker officiating. Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery, Saltillo, TN, immediately following services. Pafford Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gideon’s International
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver and family friend Telenia Melson, Judy Stanfill, and the nurses and physicians at St. Thomas Hospital Midtown.
