Agnes Carnell (Lucas) Williams – Obituary

Graveside service for Agnes Carnell (Lucas) Williams, age 89, of Decatur, will be Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery, Aberdeen, MS with Pastor Seth Keenum officiating. Shelton Funeral Home assisted the family with local arrangements.

Mrs. Williams, who died Friday, March 16, 2018, at her residence, was born September 26, 1928, in Detroit, AL to Roston Lucas and Viola Stanford Lucas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil R. Williams, her parents, and son-in-law, Mike Stewart. Prior to retirement she worked as Office Manager for IPSCO Fabrication.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Stewart of Danville, AL; one brother, James Lucas of Hamilton, MS; seven sisters, Imogene Olcott of Tucson, AZ, Rachel Jaudon of Hamilton, MS, Betty Sue Cumberland of Jackson, MS, Joyce Solomon of Jackson, MS, Peggy Pouncey of Memphis, TN, Rebecca Lucas of Tucson, AZ, and Diann Wienke of Farmington, CT; two grandchildren, Maegan Stewart of Danville, AL, and Chris Stewart of Mooresville, AL; one great-grandson, Cash of Danville, AL; and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Nette and Allison of Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate and loving care of Mrs. Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, P. O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602.
