Graveside service for Telete Compton Swander, 82, will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is scheduled.
Mrs. Swander, who died Monday, March 12, 2018, at Falkville Health Care Center, was born June 21, 1935, in Morgan County to Frederick Holland Compton and Maude Pearl Whittle Compton. She was a nurse for the North Alabama Regional Hospital for many years prior to her retirement. She also attended Athens Bible School and was a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ. Mrs Swander was preceded in death by three husbands, Steve Swander, Greer Hendon and Claude Gibson; her parents; a son, Michael Hendon and a daughter, Cathy Gill.
Survivors include granddaughter, Amber Weaver; two great-grandchildren, Levi Weaver Johnson and Ella Weaver Wagner; one niece, Claudia Compton; and son-in-law, Jeff Gill.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to Hartselle Church of Christ or to the Athens Bible School.
