Jimmy Don Leathers – Obituary

Jimmy Don Leathers, 62, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1956, in Arkansas to Irtes and Pearline Delancey Leathers. He worked for FMC for 20 years before becoming disabled in a motorcycle accident. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren and animals, and was an avid conversationalist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Kevin Clayton and Bro. Tracy McMillen officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 32, Rachel Leathers, whom he married March 1, 1986; one son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Mary Beth Leathers; one daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Bobby Howery; and his grandkids, Sara Grace Leathers, Micah Howery, Oliver Leathers, and Leanna Howery; and six siblings, Bobby Leathers (Ruby), Barbara Collier, Pat Williams (Dale), Jacky Leathers, Donna Burt (Harold), and Danny Leathers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Mary Leathers; and three grandbabies kept in Heaven.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Leathers, Robert Leathers, Eric Leathers, Hunter Leathers, Will Leathers, Michael Dill, and Jeff Dill.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Guess, Wendell Westmoreland, and Haskel Kitchens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the funeral home.
