Wennell Ridgeway Parker – Obituary

Wennell Ridgeway Parker, 86, passed away February 25, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. A former resident of Decatur, she was a former member of Southside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Parker was born on October 13, 1931, in Lauderdale County to the late Febbie L. Ridgeway and Effie T. Ridgeway.

Mrs. Parker was committed to service in her church and community. She was a founding member of Heritage Baptist Church and an ordained deacon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arlin L. Ridgeway, John A. Ridgeway and sister, Ila R. Hammond.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Rayburn Parker; sons, Ronald Parker and Arthur Parker; daughter, Karen Parker (Darrell Webb); granddaughter, Claire Webb; two brothers, Wayne Ridgeway (Ann) and Winston Ridgeway (Dot); sister, Anne Harmon (Warren); many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held on March 2, 2018, at the Heritage Baptist Church.
