James Rahbon Flannagin – Obituary

James Rahbon Flannagin, 93, of Town Creek passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at NHC in Moulton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Ben Phillips and Chris Miller officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Fergason Cemetery.

Born on October 3, 1924 to William Thomas and Gertrude Hollimon Flannagin, Rahbon was a veteran of the US Army. While serving during World War II, he received the Purple Heart. Rahbon was a member of the Hatton Church of Christ and his hobbies included fishing, raising cattle, and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Flannagin; daughters, Diane Shelton (Chatman), and Debe Dutton (Doyle); grandchildren, Shenoia Bullard (Rodney), Jody Byars (Emily), Natalie Cook (Dale), and Matthew White (Paige); great-grandchildren, Tyler Byars, Taylor Byars, Molly Byars, Macy Byars, Byron White, Charleigh White, Stella White and Naomi Cook; and four nieces.

Rahbon was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Pallbearers will be family.
