Two Arrested In Decatur…Charged With Drug Trafficking

DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department relased a statement concerning the arrst of two suspects on drug charges on Saturday, March 10:

“During the months of February and March of 2018, investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Vice/Narcotics Unit received multiple complaints of drug activity from Mill Road, within the police jurisdiction of Decatur.

During the investigation, Karen Ann Kubicsek was developed as a suspect.

On March 10, 2018, investigators with Vice/Narcotics performed a vehicle stop on a gold Saturn SL2 at the intersection of Old Highway 31 and Mill Road. The occupants were identified as Karen Ann Kubicsek and Sarah Lynne Wallace. During a search of the vehicle, 15 grams of heroin and $460 in US currency were located and seized.

A search of Kubicsek’s residence was then executed. During the search, an additional quantity of heroin, a large variety of drug paraphernalia, and $4,800 cash were located and seized.

Kubicsek was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in heroin. She was transported to the Morgan County Jail to be held in lieu of $250,000 bond per Circuit Court Judge Howell.

Wallace was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in heroin. She was transported to the Morgan County Jail to be held in lieu of $250,000 bond per Circuit Court Judge Howell.

Note: Alabama statute 13A-12-231 states that any person who knowingly sells, manufactures, delivers, or brings into this state, or who is knowingly in actual or constructive possession of, four grams of heroin, is guilty of trafficking in illegal drugs.”
