Celestine Thompson was born April 5, 1947 to the late Charles Etta Beckwith Thompson and Willie James (Bill) Thompson in Florence, Alabama. Her journey ended on March 7, 2018.

Celestine accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at Bethel Lauderdale M. B. Church. She later became a member of Christ Chapel, Florence, AL.

Celestine attended and graduated from West End High School, Class of 1966, in Lauderdale County, AL. She was employed by Tennessee Valley Authority for 17 years where she retired in 1997.

Celestine loved traveling, fashion and meeting people. Celestine met no stranger.  We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her unsparing honesty and long conversations.  Though she did not physically have children of her own, she poured love and mentored into the lives of her nieces, nephews,  Cynthia, Saran  and those she dearly loved.

She is preceded in death by her twin, Ernestine, sisters Sarah Lambert and Martha Key. Brothers, Willie James, Jr., Carlton, Henry Clay, Alvin and Leonard.  God-daughter, Robin Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; two sisters: Sylvia Swinney and Cassandra Thomas (Timothy), Florence, AL.

Devoted God-daughters: Cynthia Jordan, Spring Hill, TN and Saran McDaniel, Florence, AL

Devoted niece: Freda Thompson, Nashville, TN

Sister-In-Law: Helen Thompson, Birmingham, AL

Great Aunt: Emma Beckwith, Florence, AL

Special friends: Bessie Lovelace, Virgie Ann Fowler and Linda Thompson

A host of fond nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
