Mr. Lary E. Parker, 79, of the Morgan City area, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Parker was born on August 28, 1938 in Madison County to James Vernon Parker and Dewey Ellen Guinn Parker. He was married to Shirley Joan “Tink” Gibson Parker for 52 years. He retired from General Motors and the Alabama National Guards, Arab unit.
He enjoyed Alabama football, Nascar, deep sea fishing and traveling. He loved spending time with his family, his grandchildren was his life.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Shirley J. “Tink” Parker; son, Michael E. Parker; daughter & son-in-law, Michelle R. Taylor & Randy; brothers & sister-in-law, Jimmy Parker & Judy, Bobby Parker; sister, Ann Greenhaw; grandchildren, Bethany Parker, Lucas Parker, Logan Taylor, Owen Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, James Vernon Parker and Dewey Ellen Guinn Parker; brother, Max Parker.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City with Bro. Greg Narrell, officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will include: Robert Sturgeon, John Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Daniel Parker, Jeffrey Parker & Jeremy Parker.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Union Grove First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
