Lois Virginia Green Poss Morrison, 88, of Green Hill, Alabama, died peacefully on March 8, 2018, in her home the same way she lived her life, surrounded by her family.  She was born March 14, 1929, to John T. and Lola Green in their home in East Florence. Lois was the oldest sister to John T. Green, Jr., the late Leonard Green, and Carolyn Gray.  She graduated from Lexington High School.

Lois married her first love Noble Alexander Poss on February 6, 1949, in Iuka, Mississippi.  They built a home and a family together in Green Hill, Alabama. When she was 36-years-old, Noble passed away, and she was left to care for four children on her own.  In a time when it was uncommon for mothers to work, Lois went to work to provide for her children. She took care of their needs and also remained active at Greenhill Methodist Church and in her community.  On June 3, 1981, Lois married James O. “Bud” Morrison in Killen, Alabama. They were able to spend five happy years together traveling and enjoying their children and grandchildren before he passed away on May 16, 1986.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Leonard, two husbands, her daughter Vicki Diane Pettus, and grandson John Kohl Poss.  She is survived by her sons Samuel Thomas Poss, Larry Alexander Poss and his wife Kimberly, Steven Wayne Poss, and step-son Gerald Morrison and his wife Cindy; her grandchildren Amber Walker, Amy Elliott, Noble Pettus, Marion Pettus, Joshua Pettus, Johanna Brown, Ashley Poss, Zachary Poss, Cory Poss, Hunter Poss, Kyle Poss, Kelsey King, Kayne Poss, April Maxwell, Joseph Morrison, Lezlie Melton, Whitney Smith, Lacey Sneed, and Josie Marks; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at Loretto Memorial Chapel in Loretto, Tennessee, on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 3pm.  Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 5pm-8pm with time for her family at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to https://pkdcure.org/donate/.
