Sheila Hardwick Hatcher – Obituary

Sheila Hardwick Hatcher, 60 of Hermitage, TN passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Visitation will be Saturday, March 10th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jacob Hatcher and Chad Holder officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Sheila was an accomplished pianist. She worked as an accountant at St. Thomas Hospital Systems in Nashville, TN. She was a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and Nashville Tech where she was awarded the President’s Scholar at both locations. She was also Salutatorian at Deshler High School class of “75”. She was a loving wife and mother as well as a loving “Meme” to her five grandchildren.

Mrs. Hatcher was a native of Tuscumbia and was preceded in death by her father, Arlin Ray Hardwick; grandparents, C.A. and Zera Hardwick, William and Hattie Ryan; Ted and Mary Ellen Winters Hatcher (In Laws).

She is survived by her husband, Billy Hatcher of Hermitage, TN; mother, Betty Jo Ryan Hardwick of Sheffield; daughter, Sarah Katharine Daetz (Chris) of Knoxville, TN and their son, Teddy Gorney; son, Josh Hatcher (Liz) of Earlysville, VA and their sons, Grayson and Corbin Hatcher; son, Jacob Hatcher (Jaime) of Falkville, AL and their sons, Hank and Chet Hatcher; and brother, Arlin Craig Hardwick (Judy) of Huntsville.

Pallbearers include son-in-law, Chris Daetz and nephews, Drew and Matt Hardwick and Caleb, Eli, and Daniel Hatcher. Grandchildren are honorary pallbearers.

The family expresses special thanks to her neighbors, Nathan and Judy Borders, for their devotion to the family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Samaritan’s Purse Shoeboxes.
