Jerry Dwane Potter – Obituary

Jerry Dwane Potter, 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Huntsville after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a native of Franklin County and a member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church, Russellville.

Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, March 9, 2018 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jim Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Russellville. Pallbearers will be Matthew McGuigan, Josh Potter, J.D. Potter, Mark Potter, Larry Mitchell and Jamie Potter. Honorary pallbearer is Nathan Potter.

Surviving Mr. Potter are his wife, Lynda J. Potter of Huntsville; children, Kim Potter McGuigan and husband, Mark of Huntsville and Barry Potter and his wife, Dori of Cullman; siblings, Mavis Snider (Tommy), Carolyn Mitchell (O.D.), Faye McFarland, Joann Pounders (Charles), Rita Pennington, Jimmy Potter (Lynda) and Mike Potter (Ginger); and grandchildren, Sara and Matthew McGuigan, and Nathan and Emma Potter. Nieces, nephews and friends also survive him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Claude and Margaret Louise Potter, and siblings, Marie Alexander, Leon Potter, Linda Nell Robledo and Kathy Blasingame.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
