Auther Clyde Danley – Obituary

Auther Clyde Danley, 85, of Florence, passed away on March 03, 2018 at ECM Hospital. He graduated from Rogers High School with the class of 1951. He was a member of Petersville Church of Christ, UAW, and coached at Underwood Dixie Youth.  He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany in the 101st Infantry Division and the 1st Infantry Division.  He retired from Ford Motor Company.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 12 Noon – 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Sonny Owens and Tim Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park with Terry Oakley presiding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Carrie Bradley Danley and grandson, Chris Williamson.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Gloria Dean Gillis Danley; son, Ricky Danley (Kaye); daughter, Lisa Danley Lindsey (Chuck); all of Florence; brother, Gene Danley (Myra) of Lexington, AL; sister, Dorothy Cox (Ottis); special niece, Debra Lawson (Dwayne) all of Florence; grandchildren, Danielle Lindsey Willcutt (Brandon), Garrett Lindsey, Noel Staggs (Jeremy), Kim and Russ Lawson; great-grandchildren, Rowan Willcutt, Averee, Brody and Lilly Williamson and their mother, Andrea; Isaac and Knox Staggs.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Lindsey, Russ Lawson, Steve Cox, Wyatt Cox, Butch Danley, DeWayne Oakley, Terry Oakley and Jeremy Staggs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations maybe made to the Chris Williamson Wildgame Foundation.
