Betty Jo Ballard Buchanan – Obituary

Betty Jo Ballard Buchanan, 62, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born January 25, 1956, to Clyde Gordon and Mary Jean Hickman Pitts. She worked as a sales associate for Walmart and was a member of Harden’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed everything about Christmas and dabbling with her computer. Most of all, she loved spoiling her grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Danny Wilburn and Bro. Bobby Jarrell officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, James Buchanan; one son, James “Skip” Buchanan (Kim); and two daughters, Denise Young (Bryon) and Kathy Baswell (Dustin), all of Fulton; one sister, Ann Mayhall of Golden; four brothers, John Pitts (Joyce) and Ed Pitts (Pat), both of Fulton, Bobby Pitts (Ivy) of Fairview, and Hoyt Pitts (Sharon) of Livingston, TX; seven grandchildren, Dustin James Lee Buchanan, Jesse James Buchanan, Ariel Buchanan, Gracie Jo Mitchell, Hailey Joann Bennett, Kalie Adams, and John Wayne Young.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tommy and Alton Pitts; and two sisters-in-law, Brenda Mitchell and Linda Summerford.

Pallbearers will be Sid Pitts, Bryon Young, Allen Mayhall, Nathan Wilburn, Bobby Earl Ashley, Adam Mayhall, Jesse Bennett, and Dustin Buchanan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the funeral home.
