Walton Clovis Tate, 87, of Town Creek, died Monday, Sept. 24th at Shoals Hospital. His funeral will be Thursday, at 2 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Tate was member of IBEW 558 and a member of Town Creek Masonic Lodge 361. He was a retiree of Joe Wheeler EMC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kemp and Virgie Bunch Tate; a sister, Minnie Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Dean Tate; two sons, Roger (Carol) Tate and Tim (Tammie) Tate; grandchildren, Casey Tate, Courtney Tate Akins (Matt), Abbie Tate and Andrew Tate; two great-grandchildren, Eli Akins and Luke Akins; one brother, Garland Tate; and a sister, Lucille Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
