Leon Carter England – Obituary

Leon Carter England, 81, of Florence died Monday, February 26, 2018, at ECM Hospital.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2018, 10 AM to 12 PM at New Hope Church of Christ.  Funeral services will follow at 12 PM with Bro. Leon Cole officiating.  Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.  Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Mr. England was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.  He was a self employed retired truck driver.  He loved shooting pool at the Senior Citizens Center.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grand-father.

Mr. England was preceded in death by his son, Michael David England; an infant daughter; brother, William Glennis England; sister, Betty Hamm; parents, William Berlin England and Ann Lawson Thorn.

Mr. England is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara England; daughter, Carol England Cauthen (Philip); granddaughters, Christie Plott (Ray), Amy Ashley (Kevin), Jessie England, Elizabeth Springston, and Katie Cauthen; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Abramson, Shelia Hayes (Donnie), and Doris Lovelace; brother, Ralph England (Frances).

Pallbearers will be Ken Westmoreland, Doug Hill, Stan Gossett, John Lawson, Roy Abston, Dwight England, Elvis Phillips, and Steve Rickard.

Special thanks to his home health care givers, Ashley Montgomery and Angela Byrd.
