Alma Mavis Smith – Obituary

Alma Mavis Smith, 78, of Arab, passed away Friday February 23, 2018 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mrs. Smith was born May 1, 1940 in Noxapater, Mississippi to Will Parker and Minnie Ezell Parker. She was employed by Sanmina/SCI in Quality Control until her retirement. Her husband Donald Ray Smith preceded her in death on December 2, 2009. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and reading and loved decorating in her home.
Mrs. Smith was a member of God’s Way Ministries.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law: Danny Smith and Joyce and Douglas Smith; her daughter: Beverly Smith; her brother and sister: James William Parker and Dollie Jones; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Ray Smith and her brothers and sisters: Clennon Parker, Clifton Parker, Walden Roberts, Nita Fay Myers and Edna Beck.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday February 26, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Eli Smith, Sam Smith, Jeremy Martin, Jacob Martin, Jonathan Martin, Steven Smith, Jamie Blackmon and Ashley Chambers.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday February 26, 2018 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel prior to the service.
