Gerald (Jerry) Bilbo Hurst, Jr. was born May 29, 1968 in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Gerald Bilbo Hurst, Sr. and Carolyn Sue Hurst Parrish. He departed this life on February 22, 2018 at the age of 49.
He grew up in Henderson graduating from CCHS in 1986 and then attended MTSU. He worked in management in manufacturing his entire adult life. He married Melanie Page Hurst on March 5, 2010.
Jerry was intelligent, multi-talented and had many interests. He had a passion for cars, enjoyed golf and was a voracious reader. He also was a great mechanic and loved music. Most of all, he loved his four daughters.
He is survived by his wife Melanie Hurst of Jackson; his mother Carolyn Parrish and husband Paul of Scotts Hill; four daughters, Emily Hurst Sparks (Jonathan) of Henderson, Shelby Nicole Hurst of Aurora, IL, Taylor Hurst Graybeal of Flower Mound, TX, Brennan Mackenzie Hurst of Jackson, TN; two sisters, Angel Hurst Fulwider of Smyrna, TN and Mena Roby of Jackson; four grandchildren, Cooper, Preston, and Everlee Sparks and Logan Graybeal; three aunts, two uncles and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private funeral service on Tuesday, February 27 at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will be in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson’s Crook Avenue Chapel.
