Deborah Wright Blackmon – Obituary

Funeral service for Deborah Wright Blackmon, 47, will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens .  Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blackmon died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  She was born October 12, 1970, in Morgan County to Tyson Wright and Andrea Self  Wright.  She was a member of the West Hartselle Baptist Church and loved life to the fullest everyday. She loved beautiful sunsets and Alabama football. She was a 2016 Honoree and a 2017 Speaker of the Lee Lott Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. She was employed by Decatur Morgan Hospital as a Director of Patient Access for the past twenty-five years. She was a beloved wife and mother and fought a very arduous battle against cancer. She was preceded in death by her father: Tyson Wright.

Pallbearers will be Dan Rorie, Larry Vickery, Alan Killen, Houston Wright, Dale Robinson and Trent Wright.

In lieu of flowers: family requests memorial contributions be made to the Decatur-Morgan Cancer Foundation or to your favorite charity.

The family would like to express a heart-felt “Thank You” to all the staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital for all the love and care shown.
