Dale Jerome Lewis – Obituary

Mr. Dale Jerome Lewis, age 66, husband of Debra Lewis, and a resident of Bradford Circle in Columbia, passed away Sunday morning, February 18, 2018, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Entombment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8PM and again on Tuesday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 10, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, Dale was the son of Shirley Haight Lewis and the late Fred Lewis. He was a graduate of Swartz Creek High School in Michigan. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was in the 144th MP Unit of Operation Desert Storm.  Dale married Debra Holland on August 2, 1975 and together they had three children. He worked over 23 years at General Motors before retiring in 2006. After retirement, he worked as a truck driver. Dale was a true outdoorsman who often enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Danielle (Dwayne) Weaver of Chapel Hill, TN, Martin Lewis of Alamo, TN, Joshua (Sara) Lewis of Manchester, TN; brothers: Bailey (Brandi) Lewis of Clio, MI, Brian (Janet) Lewis of Brownstown, IN, Bradley Lewis of McCordsville, IN; sister: Nancy Holland of Swartz Creek, MI; grandchildren: Dylan Weaver, Cody Weaver, Haley Lewis, Ethan Lewis; nieces: Cori and Kelli Holland; and several other nieces and nephews.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Dan Holland; nephew: Wesley Holland; and mother and father-in-law: Roberta & Ray Holland.

Pallbearers will be: Dwayne Weaver, Cody Weaver, Dylan Weaver, Joshua Lewis, Martin Lewis, Jan Roberts, and Nathaniel Hill.
