Mr. Freddie Ross Cathey, Sr. age 62, husband of Debra Cathey, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at 6:30PM at Macedonia Church of Christ with Deltric McCullough, Sr. officiating. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 5:30-6:30PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 2, 1955 in Davidson County, Tennessee, Freddie was the son of the late Cecil Russell Bullock and the late Billie Ann Cathey. He worked as a press operator in the construction business and was a devoted member of Macedonia Church of Christ. Freddie married Debra Cooper on July 7, 1984. He enjoyed fishing and giving away the fish he caught. Freddie had many fish fries over the years for the church and the Maury County Senior Citizens Center. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Furtesha U. (Emerson) Woods, Shatrina C. (Thomas) Thorps, Freddie Ross (Gena) Cathey II, Ebony Cathey; brothers: Thomas (Carol) Cathey, Darrell Cathey, Andra (Yvette) Bullock, Jonathan Bullock; sisters: Patricia Bullock, Vivian (Marlin) Hardison, Beverly (Richard) Johnson, Diedra Goodman; grandchildren: Jacquez, Jacqueria, Dajeun, Destiny, Londyn, Layla; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Maury County Senior Citizens Center: 1020 Maury County Park Drive, Columbia, TN 38401.
