Cecelia Anne Harris Williams, born August 17, 1943, passed away on February 15, 2018 at age 74; her husband of 53 years and their two sons were with her at that time.

Cecelia is the daughter and only child of Herman Delano Harris and Geneva Parham Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cecelia is survived by her husband, Mr. “Clinton” Moseley Williams, and ther 2 sons, Dr. Clinton “Scott” Williams and Mr. Anthony “Brett” Williams; Scott’s wife, Kelli and their 2 children, Cole McCullars Williams and Caitlin Scott Williams; and Brett’s wife, Traci, and their 4 children.

Cecelia grew up in the Hillsboro area of Lawrence County, Alabama, where both her parents had also grown up.

While Cecelia was in high school, she played the clarinet in the band, was a majorette, and graduated valedictorian.

After Cecelia graduated from High School, she took courses at a local business college, learning secretarial and administrative skills, such as typing, that served her well in her work career, which included employment at the Morgan County Board of Education.

One of Cecelia’s passions was music, particularly playing the piano.

Cecelia was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Decatur, where she sang in the choir several years, and Parkview’s predecessor church, Northside Baptist Church, where she played the organ.

During Cecelia’s marriage, she and her family moved away from Alabama to accommodate her husband’s career. During that time, Cecelia became president of the social sorority Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Gamma Chapter,  in Oklahoma, and worked as a secretary and administrator in several positions to help support her family.

Upon Cecelia’s family’s return to Decatur, she and her husband, Clint, enjoyed, among other things, traveling to the football games of Auburn University, from where Clint graduated.

Cecelia was a loving, supportive, and devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother; she will always be loved and missed.
