Jerry Bowen, 66, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1952 to the late Erie Bowen and the late Mary Alice Welch Bowen. He worked as a subcontractor for Sunbelt for 28 years of service. He was an Assistant Fire Chief for 13 years and a member of Tilden Fire Department for 33 years. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mostly being around his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of Mississippi State Football and enjoyed NASCAR.
Services will be 1:00 pm on Thursday February 15, 2018 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Kelby Johnson. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Bowen; daughters: Britni (Chet) White, Lauren (Adam Whitehead) Bowen, and Lindsay (Taylor) Phillips; son, Matt Bowen; grandson, Bentley Reed White; granddaughters: Avery Kate White and Mia Jayde Phillips; brother, James (Vickie) Bowen, special friend, David (Dianne) Reese and a host of extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be David Reese, Tom Hamilton, Dewey Moore, Ray Barrett, Kory Steele, Taylor Phillips, Chet White, and Adam Whitehead.
Honorary pallbearers are the Tilden Fire Department.
