Otto Quentin Craig – Obituary

Otto Quentin Craig, age 98, of Florence, formerly of Birmingham, passed away Feb. 11, 2018. Visitation will be today, Feb. 14, 2018, from 10-11 a.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother David McKelvey officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery, Huntsville, Alabama.

Mr. Craig was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. After military service he worked for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. and retired from the U.S. Postal Service, serving in Birmingham and later in Florence.

Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Craig; daughter, Sherrie Bates; and granddaughter, Dawn Bates. He is survived by his children, Dwight Craig (Debra) and Ann O’Neal (John); siblings, Vernie Craig, Nolan Craig, Stella Harper, and Rachel Vizner; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan O’Neal, Justin O’Neal, David Craig, Edwin Bates, Tommy Bates, Jamie Landers, Tim Landers, and Wayne Craig.
