Musician / Songwriter Scott Boyer II leaves a great legacy of music

 FLORENCE – Scott Boyer II, legendary musician passed away early this morning at his home in Florence, according to his son Scott Boyer III.

Originally from Jacksonville, Boyer has performed with many legendary musicians, including Bonnnie Bramlett, Tommy Talton, and Dwayne Allman. For 50 years, Boyer performed his brand of Southern Rock n Roll all over the world. He made Muscle Shoals his home and continued performing, even though he experienced health problems for the past few years. He performed for many years in the Shoals band, The Decoys.

There will be a memorial service, according to his son.

Very sad news. Cowboy was an amazing band; I still remember hearing “Taking It All the Way” on KQKQ FM and immediately rushing out and buying the album. Was a big fan ever since. Rest in peace, Mr. Boyer. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
