Funeral service for Kathleen Joyce Curbow, age 83, of Decatur, will be Friday, February 16, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Holmes Chapel in Decatur Baptist Church with Pastor Dwight Moss officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at Holmes Chapel. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Curbow, who died Monday, February 12, 2018, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born June 16, 1934, in Pound, VA, to James Wilson and Minerva Pennington Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Winfield Curbow, and her parents. Mrs. Curbow was a long time devoted member of Decatur Baptist Church, and was an active volunteer in many of the church ministries.
She is survived by one very special son, Mark Daniel Curbow of Decatur; two daughters, Kathy Curbow Stutts (Jim) of Athens, and Valerie Curbow Greene (Mike) of Hartselle; one sister, Shirley Hicks (Ken) of Clarksville, TN; seven grandchildren, James Stutts (Tiffany), John Stutts (Kirsten), Micah Edward Greene, Valerie Kaitlin Stutts, Michaela Sue Greene, Lindsay Joyce Stutts Rosta (Sean), and Cameron Winfield Stutts; one great-grandson, Hudson Oliver Stutts; and several nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
