Lawrenceburg Fire Claims Life Of One Firefighter…Two Others Injured

LAWRENCEBURG, TN– On Monday night, February 12  a Lawrenceburg firefighter was killed and two others injured while they were battling a structure fire Monday evening at Hood Lakes Road off of Andrew Jackson Highway   .

The Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy has identified the fallen firefighter as Lawrenceburg Fire Department firefighter Jason Dickey.

The two injured firemen were taken to Southern Tennessee Regional Hospital. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

According to authorities by 8 p.m., the fire had intensified, causing the roof or a wall to collapse. Three firefighters were trapped inside, and at that point, the “mayday” call went out.

Other fire departments, including the Murfreesboro Fire Department, were deployed to give aid to Lawrenceburg.

The cause and origin of the fire were not immediately known.  The fire is still under investigation.
