Jennie Ray (Cresap) Morris born August 12, 1931, lay at rest Sunday, February 11, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center Tupelo, unexpectedly. Jennie Ray graduated from Central School of Iuka of where she played basketball, and often shared those memories. She retired as a dietician from North Mississippi Medical Center Iuka in 1997. Jennie Ray, known as Granny by her family and friends of the family, suffered hardships early on as a wife, mother and daughter. No matter what she faced, she always persevered. Her family always came first; she always did what was necessary. She was a great person, mother and grandmother. Her favorite pastimes were avid birdwatching, cooking, gardening, fishing, traveling, church events, and being a grandmother. She was cherished by her grandchildren, who couldn’t have asked for a more loving, precious grandparent. Devoted to God, she was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the area chapter of United Methodist Women until 2016. She was a volunteer at the Food Depot of Iuka. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Harmony United Methodist Church in Iuka. Visitation will continue Thursday, February 15, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Harmony Methodist Church in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Ronnie Goodwin and Rev. Larry Dollar. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Morris, Brian Morris, Preston Cline, Tommy Wilson, Paul Jenkins, and Maxey South. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. She is preceded in death by her parents, C.S. and Mary (Ray) Cresap; her husband Milford Morris; her brothers, Charles Cresap, Will Cresap, and Herschel Cresap; her daughter Margaret June (Morris) Burnett; her son Danny Ray Morris; and her step-grandson Jordan Flanagan. She is survived by her sons, Carl & wife Pamela Morris of Iuka and Tommy & wife Kelly Morris of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Marea & husband Tommy Wilson of Corinth, Karen & husband Paul Jenkins of Tupelo, Brandon Morris of Iuka, Brian & wife Morgan Morris of Iuka; and great grandchildren, Preston & wife Tatum Cline of Starkville, Olivia Wilson of Corinth, Emma Jenkins of Tupelo.
