Robert “Bob” Whitney – Obituary

Robert “Bob” Whitney, 92, of Arab, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Whitney was born February 2, 1926 in Elida, Ohio to Guy Leroy Whitney and Edna Roberts Whitney. Mr. Whitney served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a sales represenative in Florida for Sherwin-Williams – Automobile Division until his retirement in 1992. He and the former Katherine Lucille Wilson were married for 66 years. They moved to Arab in 1993. He enjoyed boating, wood working, traveling and fishing. He and his wife also enjoyed visiting with their friends for coffee at McDonalds.
He was a member of Arab First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Lucy Whitney; his daughter: Kathy Handle and his grandchildren: Katie Scott, Jennifer Cady and Jesse, Hannah, Jaynah, Dylan, Ross, Ava, Noah and Isaiah and three nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Arab First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve West, officiating and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Arab First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
