William Carroll Talley – Obituary

William Carroll Talley departed this life on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 11 days. He was born in Watertown, Tennessee in Wilson County on October 28, 1943, the son of the late Wilson Doyle and Lillian LeeAnn Jared Talley. On February 6, 2002, he was united in marriage to Nita Houston, who survives.

William Carroll served in the United States Army for 4 years and the National Guard for 25 years. He was employed with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency as an officer for 39 years and retired in 2002. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police, Pickwick Shriners, and Al Chymia Shrine Temple of Memphis, Tennessee.

He loved to hunt and fish, and especially rabbit hunt with Jeff and Wayne Baugus.

William Carroll is survived by his wife, Nita Talley of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Melissa Davis and husband Jamie of Cordova, Tennessee, Leilani DeFord and husband Kevin of Johnson City, Tennessee, Holly Baugus and husband Jeff of Counce, Tennessee; Tara Pruitt and husband Cody of Savannah, Tennessee, and April Lambert and husband Scottie of Corinth, Mississippi; grandchildren, Dalton Nabors, Alexandra Nabors, Isabella Davis, Ellis DeFord, Ava DeFord, Ivy Roberts, Autumn Ballard and husband Steve, Ashley Baugus, Mason Mitchell, Kenzie Pruitt, Dakota Howse, Taylar Spencer, Dexter Lambert, and Kayla Lambert; two great grandchildren; sisters, LeeAnn Curtis and husband Buddy of Smithville, Tennessee, and Yvone Moore and husband Sam of Grayson, Georgia; special son he never had, Tim Grammer; and his buddy, Charles Howard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson Talley.
