James K. Williams, 79, of Rogersville, passed away Friday. Alzheimer’s began to take him away from us in 2009. We had seen it before with his mother and grandfather but this was much worse. He was such a brilliant and vibrant man. He was always a leader and a hard worker. From Bremen High School Class President and Football Captain, to graduating from Georgia Tech, to helping build the lunar lander for the Apollo program, to Program Director at Boeing working on the space shuttle. He loved spending time with his family, on the water in his boat, hiking in the mountains, skiing in Colorado, and watching Georgia Tech and Alabama football. The love between Jim and Fowler Ann and the strength of their 57 year marriage is the perfect example of true love. He was the best son, brother, husband, Daddy and Paw Paw ever. He was a loyal and caring friend. He made everyone he met feel special and important. He loved to dance, laugh, and have fun!

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Fowler Ann Williams; daughters, Dawne Teale (Michael) of Double Springs, and Julie Campbell (Craig) of Rogersville; grandchildren, J.J. Foster, Johnny Cupp, Mike Teale, Jr., Will Teale, April Teale, Cory Campbell, and Caleb Campbell; six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with the Rev. Tom Wood officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org) or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
