Ruby Lee Clark – Obituary

Ruby Lee Clark, age 93 danced her way to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Wayne Medical Center.

Ruby was born on July 12, 1924, to the late Andrew Jackson Sanders and Bashaby Virginia Sunday in Sopchoppy, Florida. She worked various jobs waitressing throughout the years. Ruby spent over 60 years of her life as a Memphis resident before moving to Clifton, TN.

Playing games was one of her favorite past times. Computer games, casino games or card games, she loved them all. Aside from her games, Ruby loved to dance. Ruby won dance competitions in her younger years with her husband. The dancing, game player is remembered by her family as always being the life of the party, the light in the room.

Ruby’s life will be celebrated in a graveside memorial service, held at Clifton Cemetery on Saturday, February 10, 2018, beginning at 2:00 pm. Renee Martin will be officiating it.

Ruby is survived by her two daughters: Carolyn (Jeff) Smallwood and Gwynlyn Oldaker, both of Clifton, TN; two grandchildren: Scott (Patty) Tennyson of Henderson, TN and Christie (James) Dougan of Memphis, TN; two great-grandchildren: Clint Tennyson of Tipton County and Dewey (Christina) Tennyson of Cordova, TN; three great-great-grandchildren: Savannah and Oliva Tennyson and Tristen Travis.

Ruby is proceeded in death by her two great loves of her life. Gwynne B. Gaither and Millard B. Clark.
