Elvin Stoffregen age 97 of Rutherford, TN, formally of Athens, AL, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Stoffregen was born August 25, 1920 in Calhoun County, AL.
Graveside services will be Friday, February 9, 2018 11:00 a.m., at Roselawn Cemetery with Grady Tharpe and Warren Glass officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Stoffregen was a member of Market Street Church of Christ and was retired from NASA.
Preceded in death by his wife of 69 ½ years, Katherine Clanton Stoffregen.
Survived by his daughter, Janet Tharpe and husband, Grady; one grandson, Josh Tharpe; two great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Tharpe and Aiden Tharpe; several other family and friends.
