Virginia Short Orick, 82, died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was born November 3, 1935 in Iuka, MS and worked as an advertising coordinator for Hancock. She attended Tishomingo Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be Friday, February 9, 1 p.m. at Tishomingo City Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS with Pastor Judd Vowell officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters – Ginger Barritt (Christopher) Dennis, MS and Michele Kay (Kenn) Saltillo, MS; four grandchildren – Charles Presley Tharp III (Angela), Shaun Miller Duncan (Lisa), Christopher Alan Duncan (Angela) and Wendy Michele Cameron; eight great-grandchildren – Alex, Mikey, William, Anthony, Kilik, Ryan, Zoie Beth and Chaz and one brother – Jeffrey Short (Ellen).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Havis Short, a daughter, Penny Ann Orick and a brother, Joe Hayden Short.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Barritt, Clay Short, Andy Short, Angela Tharp, Greg Patterson, Kenny Wooldrige and Christopher Duncan.
Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
