Ruble Todd Trapp – Obituary

Ruble Todd Trapp was born May 9, 1922, in Franklin County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Walter and Aggie Porter Todd. She grew up in Spruce Pine and attended Franklin County schools. She had four brothers, Alph, Clure, Walter and Dennis, and a sister, Gladys, all of whom predeceased her. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Guess, of Nashville, Tennessee.

In 1941, she married her high school sweetheart, T.W. Trapp Jr., known to all as “Kayo.” They had three daughters, Hilda, Connie, and Valerie, all of whom survive her as well as 14 grandchildren. One granddaughter predeceased her.

In Franklin County she was active in the Home Demonstration Club as well as the 4H Club for her daughters. In 1958, she was named Woman of the Year for her work.

Upon her husband’s untimely demise, she left their home in Russellville and moved to Florence where she lived the remaining 37 years of her life.

Ruble and Kayo shared a passion for travel and they saw much of the world from Western Europe to the South Pacific returning many times to their favorite spot, the Hawaiian Islands.

Ruble was a member of the Baptist faith having been baptized at an early age.

A memorial service was held at Akins Funeral Home with her nephew, Jerome Sherrill, officiating. She was laid to rest beside Kayo at Union Hill Cemetery.
