Judy Elaine Humpreys – Obituary

Mrs. Judy Elaine Humpreys, 73, passed away Saturday February 3, 2018 at the NHC Place Cool Springs Nursing facility in Franklin. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on December 5, 1944 to Burnis E. “Tooter Bill” Brewer and Ila Lee Layne Brewer who preceded her in death along with her brother, Bernice L. “Bones” Brewer.

She was retired from United States Marshals office in Nashville, Tennessee  and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy E. (Troy) Smithson, Springhill, TN and Dawn (Marvin) Woodside, Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Beverly (Clayton) Jones, Coalmont, TN and Faye (Late Kenneth) Meeks, Manchester, TN; brothers, Charlie (Evelyn) Brewer and Carl “Rooster” Brewer, Palmer, Tennessee; grandchildren, Drake Hamby and Jesse Smithson; great grandson, Karter Smithson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minster Clayton Jones officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com

Members of the US Marshalls service will serve as honorary pallbearers, Jeff Dill, Victor Gribbin, John Hargis, Marnie Lehew, Patrick Purter, Danny Shelton, Luke Weaby, Martha Duke and Elaine and Kevin McAllister.

Active Pallbearers will be: Van Brewer, Nathan Sanders, Jesse Smithson, Greg Meeks, Chris Martin, William and Gerald Jones, Landyn Stiefel.
