Mr. Neal Lavurl Watts, age 85, of Boaz died on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Marshall Medical Center South.
Mr. Watts was born in Alabama on January 15, 1933 to Rev. Simon & Vela Smith Watts. He was a retired rural mail carrier.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Union First Congregational Methodist Church where he will Lie-in-State at church from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Bro. Doyce Putman and Bro. Jimmy Umphrey officiating with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McRae Funeral Home.
Mr. Watts is survived by his Wife: Mary Ann Pankey Watts. Sons & Daughter-in-Law: Lane Watts, Lyle & Camilla Watts all of Huntsville. Grandsons: Andrew & Matt Watts. Sister-in-Law: Freda Pankey of Athens.
Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his Parents: Rev. Simon & Vela Watts. Sister: Helen Alexander Mathews.
Pallbearers will be: Matt Watts, Andrew Watts, Chris Alexander, Randall Morton, Kelton Pankey, Fred Pankey, Shane Tidwell, Matt Alexander, Ryan Morton, Heath Morton and Bron Tidwell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mickey Monroe, Clellan Hefner, Dennis Saltzman and George Harvey.
