Claudie Sue Hatton Speck – Obituary

Claudie Sue Hatton Speck, Russellville, passed from this life Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. She lived in Franklin County most of her 95 years. A devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, she considered those her most important calling. She was the oldest member of Waco Baptist Church.

Visitation with family and friends will be Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Pinkard Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until noon. Services will follow at the funeral home chapel at noon with Brother Larry Dover officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Hill Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett E. Speck; parents, Byron and Minnie Hatton; 10 siblings; and granddaughter-in-law, Jeri Lynn Bobo.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Robert “Bob” Speck (Julia); and daughter, Pat Bobo (Ronnie); three grandchildren, Debbie Gordon (Steve), Darren Bobo, and Tresa Willis (Michael); great-grandson, Jacob Bobo (Kerri); four great-great-grandchildren, Adrian, Cheyenne, Dade, and Evie Bobo; sister, Frances Flippo; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Kelly, the staff of Burns Nursing Home and Rehab, and Lindsey of Hospice of North Alabama for the loving care provided for our mother. A special thanks to Sheila Jones who blessed Mother’s life with her care and friendship.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9930.

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord.” And so she is.
